Public Consultation for new premises for Heath House Surgery

Heath House Surgery, Halifax and their specialist developer, Primary Asset, held a public consultation on the 23 February 2010.

The event gave local residents the opportunity to air their views on the proposed medical centre that will take the practice from outdated premises into facilities that will enable more accessible care for the community.

Over 63 local members of the public attended with over 84% in support of the new development that, amongst many other benefits, will provide purpose built treatment rooms, full disabled access and increased dedicated car parking.

Ashley Heath, Regional Director, Primary Asset comments:

“We were really pleased to have a steady flow of members of the public from 4pm to 7pm. In addition to many local patients that attended, we were also joined by two local councillors and the headmaster of the local primary school. We were particularly pleased to be told by the residents adjoining the new site that there were in full support of the new surgery development which is in complete contrast to the previous residential planning application that they had objected against.

The public consultation also gave us a great opportunity to listen to the residents and learn that the stunning beech tree on the grounds was planted to commemorate the dedication of Mrs Steeley, a long term teacher at the former primary school. The family member that told us was absolutely delighted that we had designed our scheme around enhancing and protecting this important tree.”

The information forms will now be held in the current surgery for all those who were unable to attend the public consultation to view and provide their feedback.
